Scary Spice Mel B has hit out at her former Spice Girls band members Mel C and Posh (Victoria Beckham), who have both decided to not be a part of the bands 20th anniversary reunion shows.
In an interview on James Corden’s ‘Late Late Show’ in the US the America’s Got talent judge let rip as only she can on here fellow girl band icons.
When questioned about just how the five-piece were now a three-piece (Mel B, Emma ‘Baby’ Bunton and Geri ‘Giinger’ Halliwell) the feisty B stated that the reason was because the other two were ‘bitches who did not want to do it’.
She quickly caught herself on as she was on live TV in front of millions of viewers and backtracked as best she could.
‘Those lovely ladies have so much on in their lives. Victoria has her fashion line and Mel C a new album to do. So they have said we three can go ahead and keep girl power alive’.
Interest in a Spice Girls reunion has been about since the band appeared at the London Olympics and continued to do so until Victoria made it public she would not be a part of any future plans for live shows.
She has recently been followed by Mel ‘Sporty’ C in opting out of what would surely be a hugely popular series of live shows and a chart-topping piece of new material, if the band decide to go down that route.
The trio of Baby, Scary and Ginger are still going ahead with their plans and have said that they will never try to replace their former bandmates on stage, but may draft in some special guests to help them along the way through their live sets.
To date a gig at Hyde Park has been booked by the band and more will surely follow.
Expect ‘Girl Power’ to hit the headlines once more two decades on.
Will they ever top the success of 'Wannabe'? who knows, but it will interesting to see how the trio fare in a world of girl bands they helped create.
