Hilariously dissing Donald Trump and his supporters in a new track called 'Campaign Speech', Eminem has today set the internet on fire. As someone who spits with no holes barred and isn't afraid to say what he thinks, fans were happy to receive a lyrical gift from one of the best to ever touch a mic.
Also referencing the likes of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman and Colin Kaepernick, over a minimalist varying synth-driven backdrop the Detroit spitter switches between a serious narrative and a comedic one poking fun at Robin Thicke, Chuck Norris and a whole host of others.
With fiction at the base of his intention to run for President, Em's lyrical acrobatics and dizzying assault on everyone he feels deserves it is every fan of lyricism's dream. For nearly eight minutes he spits lines like:
"Consider me a dangerous man/ But you should be afraid of this dang candidate/ You say Trump don't kiss ass like a puppet?/ 'Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the funding?/ And that's what you wanted?/ A fuckin' loose cannon who's blunt with his hand on the button/ Who doesn't have to answer to no one?/ Great idea!"
"Jumped out of the second floor of a record store/ With a Treacherous Four cassette and a cassette recorder," he rhymes. "In Ecuador with Edward Norton/ Witness the metamorphosis of a legend growing/ Like an expert swordsman from the Hessian war and/ Hence the origin of the Headless Horseman/ Born with the endorphins of a pathetic orphan."
Pissing a few people off, namely David Duke, the former Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and Louisiana senate candidate, who said the rapper had been "poisoning the minds of our youth," and that Em was the "puppet of [manager] Paul Rosenberg and [Interscope co-founder] Jimmy Iovine", Em also got a few fans excited when he announced that he has a new album coming soon.
Don't worry I'm working on an album! Here's something meanwhile. https://t.co/QX3cdpqFD2
