Last week, Phil Collins came back. Not only with a huge live return for his 'Not Dead Yet' tour, but armed with quite a rock n roll anecdote, throwing some serious shade at Sir Paul McCartney.
Even in the era of Twitter beef, to hear of bad blood between two of rocks all time greats still came as a shock, with Phil Collins revealing a long held grudge with ex beatle, Sir Paul Mccartney. His original comments went viral, and we've been patiently waiting for a respond from McCartney; would Phil Collins accept an apology?
Paul McCartney speaks down to Phil Collins
Last week, Collins talked of a falling out between the pair, which stemmed from him asking McCartney to sign his first edition of The Beatles, by Hunter Davies for him.
This is when allegedly McCartney spoke down to him, turning to his then partner Heather Mills to say 'Oh Heather, it seems our little Phil is a bit of a Beatles fan', to which the embarrassed Phil was left thinking 'you fuck, you fuck'.
Collins then went on to say that McCartney 'has this thing when he's talking to you, where he makes you feel like, this must be very hard for you because I'm a Beatle. I'm Paul McCartney and I know this must be very hard for you to actually be holding a conversation with me'.
McCartney responds
The remarks were sure to gain a response from McCartney, and it has been revealed by Collins in an interview with Billboard that he has responded to the 'feud'. "He's been in touch about it because he was upset, I didn't get any flowers from him, I got more of a 'lets just get on with our lives'. And I'm sorry he's upset that I kinda said something nasty about him - well, it wasn't really nasty. If people don't tell people that sometimes their attitude could be a bit better, then you're not gonna get any better, y'know?".
This doesn't quite sound like the start of a beautiful friendship, but may be the resolution of this current conflict for the pair, though we will definitely stay tuned.
