After releasing their album HYMNS in January this year the band received a mixed reception. Some critics argued that they'd strayed too far from what made them great while other embraced, the subtler, more restrained approach.
But last month out came a track which fits more succinctly back into the Silent Alarm Bloc Party sound that we all love - and today marks the first time you can watch the official video to it.
Lyrically, the song tries to capture the underworld of a Brixton council estate "that seems to be busy all hours of the night with all sorts of types coming and going," Kele Okereke told The Independent.
The video captures Bloc Party performing to thrilled summer crowds on their North American tour and it’s cut with jovial back stage antics. It's a world away from what the song is actually about, thought. How great it would be to see a video that actually portrays Okereke's vision for the track.
Their art direction aside, the band are a relentless live force and an invaluable asset to the reputation this country has as a hotbed of pop music. Long may they tour.
