Daltrey dropped the bombshell whilst speaking to The Times at Desert Trip festival in California where the headliners included The Who, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones.

Daltrey gave his views on the current state of music, and was far from impressed “The sadness for me is that rock has reached a dead end... the only people saying things that matter are the rappers and most pop is meaningless and forgettable.” And went on to say that the pop stars of today “Can’t remember a bloody thing”.

A bold statement from the man who questioned Kanye West’s boasts claiming that was “the greatest living rock star on the planet” during their Glastonbury set in 2016.

Well, we are living in a world where Manchester “Can’t handle” Justin Bieber, so who knows? Maybe Roger’s on to something.
