Tool are set to play their first New York City show in 12 years when they headline Governors Ball.
Fans are hopeful this show will coincide with the release of their first album since 2006's 10,000 Days.
The sheer brilliance of that album will stand the test of time and the band are easily one of the most important rock/metal bands ever. We fully hope this is the start of a prolonged return for Tool.
Other artists to be revealed on the line-up are also great. There's a notable appearance from Franz Ferdinand who have been very quiet recently and haven't been announced on any UK festivals yet.
Meanwhile, Lorde has been announced meaning this could be the start of a world tour for her. And Blossoms, who have been announced at Coachella, too , continue to assert their dominance in America and build a fanbase there.
Singer Tom Ogden told Gigwise in an interview last year that he felt thrilled to be packing out venues with 250 capacity and in a way it was like starting again as a small band but with the experience they've got now to blow people away means they've been playing the best small gigs of their lives over there. Their US shows go up a notch in 2017.
Car Seat headrest is huge over in New York and continues to show that he's one of the most interesting young songwriters in the states right now.
Moreover, Wu-Tang Clan will be a live highlight bringing their menace, machismo and telepathic synchronicity. Coachella has a rival as the below list shows. And Childish Gambino will make a rare 2017 appearance given his other commitments playing Lando Calrissian in Star Wars' upcoming young Han Solo film.
