A bar inspired by the late icon George Michael is set to host a free tribute party in honour to the singer this weekend. Check out full details below.
The Covent Garden venue Tropicana Beach Club - named after the 1983 Wham! smash - promises a full night of hits, live tribute performances and 'special guests', with free entry to those wanting to join the celebration of Michael's life.
Tropicana Beach Club's Antony Knight said the response has been "overwhelming" and that the event had to be rescheduled from Thursday to Friday, after calls from fans begged the bar to change it to the weekend so they could attend. In just 24 hours, 2000 people had confirmed their attendance, Knight revealed.
The event's official page says: "We want to turn the sadness into a tribute of this extraordinary artist who gave us so much."
A 'Club Tropicana' cocktail will also be served-up by the bar for the evening and throughout the month, with all proceeds made going to charity.
