Pontefract indie pop four-piece Glass Caves have unveiled new single 'Swim'. Check out the new video on Gigwise below.
It all started on the streets. With Glass Caves beginning life by busking in their favourite cities, their name rapidly spread across the country, and the band were beginning to turn heads as one of the best live acts around. They soon enjoyed a shift from stopping shoppers in their tracks, to snagging major festival slots and selling-out sought-after venues nationwide. A headline Club NME show at London's KOKO, Isle of Wight Festival, and Reading & Leeds appearances are just a handful of places Glass Caves have stopped-off on their journey so far.
Two years on from their self-funded debut album Alive - which made it on to Record Store Day's Top 40 at the time of release - Glass Caves are back armed with new material.
The reflective new cut 'Swim' sees the band explore the wonders of living in the moment - finding fulfillment from their own personal paradise, formed simply by the natural world around them. A sense of space and tranquility in the verse exposes singer Matthew Hallas' highly emotive vocals, before diving head first into a widescreen, stadium-sweeping chorus. Glass Caves' sky-high ambition remains clear to see, while they begin to adopt a more reserved and elegant approach to songwriting.
Following a packed-out show at Camden Assembly in March, Glass Caves will hit the road again later this month. Dates include Leeds, York and Glasgow - before the band return to London for a show at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen.
