More details have emerged of Björk’s forthcoming 10th studio LP, including a number of track titles.
The acclaimed Icelander has told Dazed that the still untitled LP constitutes her ‘Tinder record’. In a new interview with Dazed, she said the album is “about being i
n love. Spending time with a person you enjoy on every level is obviously utopia.” The interview also suggests that tracks entitled Allow, Loss, Features Creatures, and The Gate, will appear on the album, with The Gate to feature in a new video directed by visual artist Andrew Thomas Huang.
Huang has previously collaborated with Björk on a number of videos, including the revolutionary VR and 360 degree visuals that formed part of her most recent project Vulnicura. He directed projects for Stonemilker, Black Lake and Family on that album, and also worked on 2011’s Biophilia.
Björk’s new album was announced in typically idiosyncratic form with a brief, handwritten note on the singer’s social media channels, which read: “I am excited to share with you that my new album is coming out very soon. Warmthness, Björk.”
She also posted a link to handwritten note, which reveals that the record will be available on vinyl and CD. The specific release date is yet to be confirmed, while the album cover is currently completely blank.
