The Rolling Stones are to release a giant box set of 15 albums this summer, because… money.

The new, limited edition pack will be called ‘The Studio Albums Vinyl Collection 1971-2017’ and promises to offer fans of the iconic crow-footed beat combo an opportunity to procure every studio album released by them on fancy-dan heavyweight, “180-gram black vinyl”.

Spanning some 20 LPs, the recordings have been lovingly sourced from the original master tapes. Boffins at Abbey Road studios, no less, have remastered the entire opus, track-by-track, at half speed. So there.

Each box set will contain a numbered certificate of authentication for your dad to, I don’t know, put on the wall or something.

It’ll be released on June 15. Look, they even made a trailer for it:

Okay, it does look fairly badass. Still, you’d hope so for the princely sum of £399.99.

Word on the street is, Mick and Keith and the gang (especially that one who doesn’t dye his hair and is just growing old like a normal person, he’s definitely my favourite) are right now working on brand new material ahead of a forthcoming tour.

Which will presumably make the whole comprehensive-box-set idea obsolete.

But who’s counting.
