More about: Slipknot
After the incredible news that Slipknot would be headlining Download festival 2018 last week alongside Tool and Def Leppard, the band have today released a new track with an accompanying video. Check out ‘All Out Life’ on Gigwise below.
The track delivers everything you could want from Slipknot. Corey Taylor's scream, thrash metal guitars, big riffs, Morello-esque experimentation, and drums heavy enough to bring down a cliff and ignite a charged reaction in its listener.
The video directed by the band features boiler suited, masked troupe escaping from a bus and raving and setting things alight. It's all in a slow motion disorientating pace and carefully art directed with plenty of blood to make it a fitting Halloween release.
Of the track's theme, it's about bringing people together and sticking it to people who throw disdain on the musical past and assume all progress is in the future.
“Fuck that: why should we pay attention to your mediocre future when you can’t be bothered to celebrate an amazing past?” says Corey Taylor in a press release.
The above is substantiated when you hear, in the middle of the track, Corey chanting: "I will not listen to worthless noises / I will not submit myself to predictable selected choices." A rallying call there, that'll no doubt ignite a reaction among fans.

As for the future of Slipknot, it's looking good: “Right now is a very exciting time," says Taylor. "We’ve been working on new music for the last two years, and 'All Out Life', the song and the video, is just one of many concepts in the works. It’s a fitting taste to get you to the next thing. Get ready for what’s to come. We challenge you to All Out Life.”
