The 12th Century castle in Rochester will soon become synonymous with appearances from iconic artists, as its annual music festival has announced this year's headliners. Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, the indie rock titans The Libertines, one of the world’s most iconic Motown groups The Jacksons, and the internationally influential reggae pop group UB40 are all hitting the top spots.

Tasked with the mammoth job of curating an exciting, eclectic lineup that will help bring music fans from afar and from the local community, established concert and festival promoters AGMP have announced a brilliant and genre-spanning lineup that is sure to put Rochester on the UK’s music map, bringing swathes of music lovers to Kent’s stunning heritage site this summer.

We caught the Libertines at Brixton Academy at the tail end of last year, and were enthralled by the festival-like electricity they still can cultivate: “Carl and Pete's chemistry has not waned in the fifteen plus years they've been playing together: the two of them bounce off one another in a brotherly manner, criss-crossing on stage and sharing the microphone on several occasions…The Libertines are still killing it.”

Tickets for all dates are on sale now, with supporting acts still to be announced.
