More about: The Lemon Twigs
The Lemon Twigs have returned with another insight into their glam-rock, musical life. 'The One' is the first music since their 2018 musical project Go To School. The new cut retains some of that high school theatre group vibes, but with a look back at the classic rock licks that made the duo so popular in the first place.
The new tune announces a third album from the brothers - Songs For The General Public, which will arrive on May 1.
'The One' is a cartoon-ish, tongue-in-cheek slice of classic rock-inspired euphoria, retaining odd moments reminiscent of Todd Rundgren - an eminent inspiration who assisted on the Twigs' second album. The song arrives with an arch video of the pair dancing atop a touring van, bony hips swinging and painted lips pursed.
See it and hear the tune:
Brian and Michael D’Addario are an unusual fratneral duo with a nineteen-seventies inspired upbringing and a taste for all that's eclectic. Their last release Go To School was a musical about a monkey who is bullied into setting his school on fire...
Live, they have "as much subtley as a sledgehammer in the face".
Songs for the General Public will drop on May 1 on 4AD.
