Leathery lothario Iggy Pop has announced a fabulous new boxset of treats that include reissues of The Idiot and Lust For Life. Both albums have been completely remastered, and will be available alongside rarities, live takes and a 40-page book.

An alternate mix of 'China Girl' has been released by way of announcement today: that's The Idiot's second single that became a mega-hit thanks not only to Iggy, but to the Nile Rodgers-produced Bowie imagining of the song on Let's Dance. Hear that mix below:

It's just one example of the many retreated songs from the two iconic albums - all available in the box set, which is coming in May. Of course, the set also contains Iggy blinders 'The Passenger', 'Lust For Life' and 'Funtime': all the fruits of his West Berlin sessions with Bowie back in 1977.

Included in the box set: The Idiot, Lust For Life, a remastering of the live album TV Eye, three discs of previously unreleased live recordings from 1977 and a 40-page book of photod and essays from famous fans.

The box set will be available on UMC from 29 May.
