Gus Dapperton has shared a brand new single by way of announcing his second album Orca, due out in September on AWAL. The artist celebrates the unveiling with a performance onThe Ellen Degeners Show. Super casual...

'Post Humorous' is an easy-listening trip through West Coast indie by an East Coast boy. A sparkling electric guitar loop underscores the whole affair, taking this tune about experiencing death in childhood through cycles of sadness and hope.

Catchy and gentle, the song has moments where Dapperton loses control, screaming the words like a nu metal singer. The accompanying video features his sister Amadelle. skater Erik Arteaga, musicians Remi Wolf and Santi, and more.

Dapperton started to write Orca while on tour in 2018. “My lifestyle and habits had gotten extreme," he says of that time. Through the depression that followed, Dapperton found a new direction for his music. “I’m a huge advocate for putting myself in vulnerable positions in my music,” he said.

We saw the artist play at London's Oval Space last year. "His made-for-YouTube hits can translate to an emphatic live performance" we said of that show.

With Orca, Dapperton steps it up again.
