More about: Lucy Dacus
Deeply moving storytelling, swelling instrumentation and movie references galore: Lucy Dacus' new single 'Brando' is here - and it’s perfect.
The fourth single released from upcoming album, Home Video, Lucy Dacus introduces us to a friend she used to have in this heartfelt and melancholic ode to thankful realisation. Dacus’ lyricism shines through on this track, with slightly humorous and highly memorable lines, such as “and you're yelling at me "Stella!" / and I'm laughing cause you think you're Brando but you'll never come close.”, taking centre stage.

On the subject matter of ‘Brando’, Dacus has said:
“‘Brando’ refers to a very dramatic friend I had in high school whose whole personality was the media he consumed. He showed me a lot of amazing movies and music, but I think he was more interested in using me as a scrapbook of his own tastes than actually getting to know me. He claimed to know me better than anyone else but I started to feel like all he wanted from me was to be a scene partner in the movie of his life.”
Home Video arrives 25 June via Matador Records. Pre-order here.
