Indie legends We Are Scientists are back with their first album in three years, Huffy, which is to be released 8 October on 100% Records. They broke the news with new single ‘Contact High’ and some unique pre-order bundles.

‘Contact High’ is definitely a song you’ll want to blast from the rooftops this summer, with dizzying guitars that hit you head on and euphoric indie-rock vocals. Such a massive song shows that classic guitar-driven indie isn’t going anywhere. Singer and guitarist Keith Murray describes the track:

"Love songs can easily be goofy and embarrassing, and so I sometimes have a hard time writing songs that are unambiguously romantic. Contact High really nails that heady rush of full-throttle infatuation for me, though, because it evokes my trifecta of mood-altering stimuli — dizzying romantic interaction, rousing music, and second-hand contact with psychoactive chemicals (in descending order of personal preference)."

With this comes even more exciting news – the album artwork will be completely customisable. If you pre-order the album on vinyl or CD, the blank packaging and sticker sheets allow you to represent the album experience however you want. The band explained their unique decision:

“Usually people bring a vinyl record home, rip it to their iPods, and throw it straight into the fire. Well, not with Huffy. We’re giving our listeners a reason to keep this one around, and even to consider passing it down to future generations, if they’re super-happy with where they put all the stickers.”
