In one of the more surprising releases of the week, Doja Cat has shared a cover of Hole’s ‘Celebrity Skin’ for Taco Bell’s 2022 Superbowl Ad, with reworked lyrics from Courtney Love herself. And the result is outstanding!

The original sound stays intact in this cover (with a few ad-friendly lyric changes) with Doja Cat’s unique vocals giving it a new edge. It just goes to show that she can turn her hand to many genres, with a slightly rough side to her vocals that goes perfectly with Hole’s iconic ‘90s grunge. Could an alt-rock album be on the cards for Doja Cat? Who knows, but the reaction to this cover tells us that one would be very welcome…
