If you don’t know Stella Donnelly, it’s time to get to know. Bringing effortless Aussie charm to her unique indie-pop vibe, the singer developed a cult following after her 2019 record Beware Of The Dogs. Now back with a new album Flood coming in August, the first track ‘Lungs’ promises big fun things.

As with her other work, ‘Lungs’ delivers humour soaked lyrics with sharp observation. Analysing topics of love and closeness and truth, her sweet voice adds a heavy dash of joy regardless of the subject matter she tackles.

But while it maintains the beloved Stella charm, ‘Lungs’ launches a very different era for the artist. Co-producing with Methyl Ethyl’s Jake Webb, she’s turned to writing more spontaneously, abandoning her comfortable electric guitar to instead work on piano - a move that feels responsible for the soul-filled, vulnerable feeling on the track.

Prepping for a set at The Great Escape followed by a busy year of touring around the UK, EU and US - you better get acquainted with Stella.

Flood arrives 26 August via Secretely Canadian
