Although it feels like The Great Escape 2022 was only a couple of weeks ago, the festivities for 2023 are starting to get underway. Announcing their First Fifty, these acts are the first names to grace the 2023 and generally are synonymous with the hot of the hot, ones to watch for the year.

And the lineup is stellar. Featuring some names we’ve rallied for in 2022, our favourites including Shelf Lives, The Dinner Party, Melin Melyn, Witch Fever and Grove are all set to perform. Other real stand-outs include Nell Mescal, Sarah Kinsley of TikTok montage fame and Self Esteem band member, Seraphine Simone.

Taking place across eight venues in East London - the festival have also announced th key topics for the 2023 conference and revealed that Italy is the lead country partner. 

The festival is known for spotlighting the best of up and coming talent, so these showcases feel almost like trend reports for the year to come. Getting the ball rolling ready for May, i hope all music industry folk and artists are ready to start training for what always feels like music industry olympics. On your marks, get set, go!
