Killing has never been so romantic

Swim School are back following the release of their successful 2021 EP ‘making sense of it all’ with a brilliant new single that combines upbeat indie pop and dream like guitar, ‘kill you’. The single comes following almost a year of the band taking to the road and it’s probably the tightest track they’ve released so far.

The song references killing something in the nicest way possibly, which are weirdly sinister but also quite heart felt lyrics, amongst a soundtrack that sounds like it could provide the backdrop for when the two leads of a rom com finally kiss one another. It was recorded by Iain Berryman and provides a new-found layer to vulnerability.

Alice Johnson of Swim School commented on the track, “Kill You is about being in love and wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone,” she said, “I didn’t want it to be your stereotypical love song, which is why I chose the title ‘Kill You’, it’s funny feeling vulnerable whilst writing a song about vulnerability”.

The track comes out just in time for a run of live dates that Swim School have coming up with Daisy Brain that will see them travel all across the UK, giving them even more time to cement themselves as one of the must-watch live acts in recent years.
