The combination of contrasting sounds is always very exciting to hear, especially when it’s done well. This is seen quite frequently in the world of indie rock as fuzzy and dirty sounding electric guitars pair with sweet vocals to create something packed with emotion that can move you both figuratively and literally. This is seen better than even on the banging new single by Comforts, ‘Get Out Your Head’.

The four-piece come in hot and heavy in order to show off their exciting sound. The song writing is fantastic, emotional and catchy, but without being too in your face about it. The single is heartfelt but also packed with euphoria, a combination that just makes you want to learn the words and sing it back at gigs and on dancefloors alike.

“’Get Out Your Head’ is the first song we recorded using a YAMAHA FX500, an audio effects unit from the 80’s…” said the band about the sound of the new single, “lyrically the song is about someone talking about you behind your back but having the courage to put it past you and remembering your self worth. ‘Just remember, remember who you are, just remember, as these time’s get hard.’ It’s also one of our favourites to play live!”

The way the song progresses is really impressive. It’s clear when you are listening to a verse, chorus or bridge, but the alteration between melodies and production is so seamless that it’s a bit blink and you miss it. It makes for a really exciting listen and one which provides the perfect backdrop for whatever kind of mood you’re in.
