The Horrors Look Forward To Arctic Monkeys 'Confrontation'
The Horrors are currently settling on song selection for their second album as they prepare for the "confrontation" of supporting the Arctic Monkeys later this month.
The controversial nouveau-garage band will play with the Monkeys at all six of their sold out UK shows this month, and say they are prepared for a potentially hostile reaction.
Faris Rotter writes on the band's website, "The audience reaction will certainly be interesting, confrontation is always something we have thrived on battling against.
"However the differences between the two bands aren't as wide as some may initially think, the Arctic Monkeys have certainly pushed towards a heavier direction of late, which can only be applauded given their position.
"There have been disagreements between us in the past but they are of a fairly irrelevant nature."
Rotter also reveals his band are in the process of hammering together their new LP.
"With regard to the second album sessions, we have so far written around sixteen songs, maybe eight or nine of which are currently contending for inclusion on the second LP," he writes, adding, "There are a couple of covers we are considering but work is yet to start on those."
Several of the new songs will be unveiled at The Horrors' London Electrowerkz show this Wednesday, along with "a new version of a track from Strange House that live audiences are yet to have witnessed."
