George Michael Vows To 'Start Again' Following Prison Release

Singer George Michael has promised to “start again” following his release from prison on Monday (October 11).

The former Wham! star was set free from Highpoint prison four weeks into an eight-week sentence for drug driving.

Speaking at his home in North Lonbon, where he will spend the next four weeks on probation, Michael thanked his fans for their support.

He described the well wishes as “quite inspirational”, adding: "By the way, I've just thought of a really good idea for a song and it's got nothing to do with prison."

Michael was jailed last month after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs.

He was arrested early this year after his car crashed into a photographic shop in Hampstead.

During his time in prison, Michael issued a statement to deny reports that he had received special treatment.
