Good news for any fans of Drake out there - as the rapper now has his own official day held in his honour in the city of Houston, Texas.
Drake has shown his love for his adopted new hometown with his involvement in the Houston Appreciation Weekend. Now, Houston have returned the love by officially declaring that 10 June will be 'Drake Day'.
Mayor of Houston Annise D Parker made the announcement on Instagram, sharing the official proclamation which states that Houston “commends and appreciates Drake for dedicating his time to Houston through his passion and enthusiasm for music and our city.”
It continues: "In 2008, Lil Wayne invited Drake to fly to Houston and tour with him, and as a result, Drake has been a City Of Houston Ambassador, paying homage to Houston through his lyrics. He frequently mentions Houston in his songs, such as when he coined the term ‘Houstatlantavegas’, and has also been known to show kindness to the citizens of Houston."
