After Robert Hart was killed in an attack at Parklife Weekender earlier this month, police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
Hart died in hospital following what police described as a "brutal assault" which took place at the festival on 7 June. The 26 year old, who was described by his family as "awesome", was reportedly protecting his girlfriend from being hit repeatedly with an inflatable toy.
Yesterday morning (21 June), police arrested a 31 year old male on suspicion of Hart's murder.
Shortly after the incident, Greater Manchester Police had described the suspect as approximately 25 years old, six feet tall, with short, curly, black hair shaved at the sides. He was wearing shorts and a blue, bomber-style jacket with a white 'A' on the front.
In a statement, Detective Inspector Richard Eales said: "Over the last two weeks, we have received a huge amount support by both the public and the media for the appeal to help find the person responsible.
"We now have a man in custody, but that doesn't mean the investigation is at an end. We are continuing to investigate and we are renewing our appeal for information or any relevant footage."
