Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is arguably the most iconic music video of all time - and now the original casting call advert for the shoot has appeared online. Check it out below.

Not only was it the single and video that launched Nirvana into the mainstream, but it was the turning point of the 90s that kickstarted the grunge movement and gave new fuel to American alt-rock.

The video for the lead single for Nevermind was directed by Samuel Bayer, who went on to direct other seminal videos including 'Bob' by NOFX, 'Gotta Get Away' by The Offspring, 'Doll Parts' by Hole, 'The Heart's Filthy Lesson' by David Bowie, 'Only Happy When It Rain's by Garbage, 'Welcome To The Black Parade' by My Chemical Romance and all of Green Day's American Idiot-era videos.

He also made 'Angels' by Robbie Williams, but nobody's perfect. Either way, here's his original casting call for 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' - calling for '18 to 25 year-olds who can adapt a high school persona, i.e. preppy, punk, nerd, jock'.
