The Daily Mail have caused something of a stir after a cock-up in their reporting of the Taylor Swift video controversy - referring to A-Trak as "Flan Emoji."

The Canadian DJ, who was born Alain Macklovitch, goes by the stage name A-Trak and is also one half of Duck Sauce. As a joke, one of his many different Twitter names recently was "Flan Emoji", though his handle remained "@atrak."

It seems it all got a bit too confusing for The Daily Mail though, who not only identified him as a member of Odd Future, but also referred to him repeatedly as Flan Emoji.

In a story about the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift's new video, which Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt referred to as "inherently offensive and ultimately harmful" in its cultural stereotyping and appropriation, the Mail wrote: "Bandmate Flan Emoji also piped up, adding: 'You know what thisTaylor Swift video is missing? Some nice graffiti by biber. Let's be urban, everyone! Yay, cupcakes.'"

Later in their report, they include a helpful photo of Earl Sweatshirt and A-Trak, sorry, Flan Emoji, both apparently members of California hip-hop collective Odd Future.

It seems A-Trak has taken the terrible research in good spirits, as he's now changed his Twitter name to "Bandmate Flan Emoji."
