The Libertines played their first show in mainland Europe in over a decade last night (12 July) at Lisbon's Optimus Alive festival.
The band, who recently reformed for a huge Hyde Park gig as well as two small warm-up shows in Glasgow, played a one and a half hour long set at the festival.
The set included 'The Good Old Day' and 'What Became Of The Likely Lads' - two songs they were unable to complete at Hyde Park due to chaotic crowd surges which reulted in several hospitalisations.
They drew a smaller crowd to the main stage than their headline predecessors The Black Keys and The Arctic Monkeys, but this did little to quash their enthusiasm as they burst into snippets of 'Jolly Holiday' from Mary Poppins and 'Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay'.
The band ended their set with a five song encore, which included 'Up The Bracket' and 'I Get Along.'
Elsewhere during the last day of the festival, which took place between 10 and 12 July, Foster The People, Bastille, Daughter, Chet Faker and Unknown Mortal Orchestra also played. Check back at Gigwise for our full report.
