Touted by the Electoral Comission, singer Lorde has lent her voice to encourage youths to vote in the upcoming New Zealand Election.
Urging NZ youngsters to have their say on September 20, the 'Royals' star told fans: "Right now I don't have a voice and that's why I need you to use yours."
Unable to vote herself due to her young age, the outspoken singer is still the perfect candidate for the campaign given her straightforwardness and current influence in the music scene.
The 'Tennis Court' singer has recorded a series of advertisements in support and said: "I know sometimes politics can just seem like a bunch of old people on the TV kind of ranting at each other and it doesn't feel particularly influenced by people like us but I think that we are creative.
"I think that we have the kinds of ideas that will just revolutionise what it's like to live in New Zealand... and if everyone's voting, if everyone's contributing the kinds of ideas that I know you can contribute, we're set to really make things happen."
Lorde is playing across the USA & Canada this summer with scheduled stops including Lollapolloza Festival in Chicago and Osheaga in Montreal, where she'll be playing alongside performers such as Arctic Monkeys, Outkast and Jack White. For more information visit Gigwise Tickets.
