Willie Nelson's braids have sold for $37,000 at a one-off auction in Phoenix, Arizona.
The sale took place at the estate sale of late country icon Waylon Jennings, with Nelson reportedly presenting the strange gift to the singer a party thrown by June and Johnny Cash to celebrate his sobriety in 1983.
The lucky buyer of the braids was not revealed, and the hair itself was just one of 2000 items on sale, with other lots including Buddy Holly's motorcycle, Muhhamed Ali's boxing gloves, handwritten lyrics from the singer and a personal letter sent to Jenkins from John Lennon.
