Dave Grohl has hit out at bands that play old albums in full, describing them as "presumptuous and lazy".
The Foo Fighters frontman was speaking to NME about revisiting old albums when the statement was made, explaining that at one point he wanted to record the band's self titled first record around its 20th anniversary o see what it would sound like today.
"At one point I thought, 'You know what would be really funny? To re-record the first Foo Fighters record as the band we are now' – 'cos the first record isn’t the Foo Fighters, it’s just me." Grohl told the magazine.
He went onto to explain that in hindsight that would be a terrible idea, which is why the band won't be playing the album in full anytime soon either. It also led him to question the credentials of bands that revisit old records and tour them specifically.
"Fuck, man! I don’t like it when a band’s tour is just to play one past record. I fucking hate that. I don't like it when bands do that. It’s presumptuous. It’s lazy."
