Tom Odell has covered John Lennon's 'Real Love' for their 2014 Christmas advert. Watch it below.
The plot of "Monty The Penguin" concerns a young boy keeping an unruly flightless bird entertained - plying him with fish fingers, taking him on park visits and sleigh rides, before resorting to buying the bird a mate for the festive season. The advert will receive it's TV debut this Friday on Channel 4 during a break during Gogglebox.
'Real Love', written by John Lennon, is the last released Beatles track and first came to prominence on the soundtrack to documentary Imagine: John Lennon. Although we admire the track we can't but help feel 'Free As a Bird' might have been more appropriate.

Odell follows in the footsteps of Lily Allen and Gabrielle Aplin who have recorded cover versions for the retailer's Christmas campaigns. Aplin in particular benefitted hugely from appearing on the advert covering The Power Of Love: she even won over Japanese rock act Babymetal, who this week declared she was "one of their favourites".
