The xx have given fans an update on their new album, before showcasing new material at a gig in New York. See footage below.
The Mercury winning trio have been writing and recording in Texas, Iceland, London and are now heading to LA. On the way, they played a Dior-sponsored party at New York's Guggenheim Museum.
The band sent an email newsletter update to fans giving the above details. In the statement, they said: "Although all very different, each of these places have been inspirational environments to create music in, and each will have an influence on the new album." Howevr, they have given no indication when this new album might appear.
The band released their eponymous debut album in 2010, which won the Mercury Prize. Their second album, Coexist, was released in 2012.
The XX appeared at the Guggenheim Museum in New York on Wednesday 5 November as part of a Dior sponsored pre-party for the museum's International Gala Weekend.
They played a thirty minute set that included 'Islands', 'Crystalised' and 'Angels' as well as showcasing some new material. Watch fan-footage of the tracks below, as well as a Vine, previewing a clip of a new track.
