James Gunn, the writer and director of Guardians Of The Galaxy, has shared a new mixtape, Awesome Mix Volume Zero, online. Listen to it below.
Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 - the soundtrack for the hugely successful Marvel film - included songs from the '60s and '70s such as 10cc's 'I'm Not In Love', The Runaways' 'Cherry Bomb' and, of course, the Five Stairsteps' 'O-o-h Child'. Despite not featuring any new songs, the soundtrack reached No.1 in the US Billboards chart.
Now Gunn has shared a new list of songs, entitled Awesome Mix Volume Zero, which features more contemporary artists such as My Chemical Romance, Andrew W.K. and The Wombats.
The playlist was compiled by Gunn during the filming of the Boot of Jemiah scenes to "keep the extras hyped and alive and feeling like they were in a bar atmosphere." We've compiled the list of songs into a Spotify playlist for you to listen to below.
Introducing the list on his Facebook page, Gunn wrote: "Simon [Hayes, the film's master soundman] took requests for the credit scene, but for the Boot of Jemiah he asked me to put together an AWESOME playlist of high energy party tunes. So I did, featuring some of my favorite tunes. My assistant Simon Hatt (50% of British people are named Simon) just found this list and sent it to me. So I thought I'd share it with you in case you wanted to make your own BOOT OF JEMIAH PLAYLIST - or, as known from now on, Awesome Mix Volume Zero."
We look forward to Awesome Mix Volume Minus One.
