Chance The Rapper shared the love on Valentine’s Day yesterday by posting a new song entitled ‘Lady Friend’ on SoundCloud.
The track was made with Chance’s backing band, The Social Experiment and the Chicago MC simply tweeted ‘Happy Valentine’s Day from The Social Experiment’ before uploading the track.
The vocals on the song are stunningly heart-warming and expose Chance’s more tender side. Cinematic in terms of instrumentation, it’s evident from both this and Chance’s previously released video ‘Nothing Came to Me’ that his forthcoming work could be a slight departure from his previous mixtape, Acid Rap.

It is highly likely that the song will appear on Chance’s eagerly anticipated upcoming album ‘Surf’. The album, like ‘Lady Friend’ will be a collaboration with The Social Experiment and Donnie Trumpet.
Speaking of the album, Chance recently said: “It’s a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico [Segal, aka Donnie Trumpet] hold the reigns and carry it. There’s a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers.” Rumoured collaborators on the album include Migos and J. Cole.
