Follow her triumphant performance at this year's Grammys with Kristen Wiig, Sia has spoken for the first time about her new studio album - entitled This Is Acting.
The recluse star says that her seventh album has already been recorded.
"I'm super productive. I have a full album ready to go and it's much more pop," she told NME. "I'm calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn't go in thinking 'this is something I would say'. It's more like play-acting. It's fun."
Sia also revealed that she released her number one album 1000 Forms of Fear to escape her publishing contract. "I was planning to be a pop song writer for other artists," she continued. "But my publishing deal was as an artist so I had to put one more album out. I didn't want to get famous so I kept all the songs I wanted and had a lot of fun making it."
Despite being nominated for four Grammys (including Record Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance), Sia went home empty handed on the night. She did however perform with Maddie Ziegler and Kristen Wiig at the ceremony.
For anyone still left bemused by her reluctance to be captured on camera, the best explanation she has offered was the following from June 2014: "I don't want to be famous, or recognisable. I don't want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet. I was at Target the other day buying a hose and nobody recognised me and my song was on the radio, and I thought, 'OK, this experiment is working'."
