The band have also shared details on quite how bold their new sound is going to be. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the band preview their huge change in direction. The writer Patrick Doyle describes "U2-sized guitars, synths, spacey mellotrons and even some drum machines". Two particular moments particularly caught out eye: 'Ditmas' (a "catchy power chord thrasher") and 'Tompkins Square Park', "a vaguely Strokes-y breakup song"). From the sounds of things, Reading and Leeds are going to be in for a treat.
