Graham Coxon has questioned whether Blur will continue after their new album, querying whether the LP is  a "full stop at the end of a chapter" or "end of a book".

Speaking to Uncut magazine about the band's first new album in 12 years: "I view it as a great big positive punctuation mark. I don’t know whether it’s the full stop at the end of a book or whether it’s a full stop at the end of a chapter. I don’t think any of us know that yet."

Coxon dismissed the idea that the end of Blur would mean each member would stop performing.

"That doesn’t mean any of us are going to stop making music," he said. "Music is a constant with us. Damon will make music whether it’s with Blur or doing other things, he’ll always be meandering along making music."

The guitarist also described the new LP as 'sci-fi folk music' reflecting both the changes in their own personalities and the diminishing fortunes of the music industry.

Blur were recently announced as the headliners for the Isle Of Wight Festival on 11-14 June at Seaclose Park in the Isle of Wight. Coxon said of the announcement: “These summer shows are going to be quite different to the gigs we did a few years back. We're excited to play the new record live and we'll have some surprises in store for the fans too.”

The band recently released the third track from their new album The Magic Whip. 'Lonesome Street' followed 'Go Out' and 'There Are Too Many Of Us' are all taken from their first album in 12 years.
