The second trailer for upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton has been released ahead of the film's premiere later this summer.
The film, which documents the gangsta rap group's rise to infamy, is directed by F. Gary Gray, who has previously worked on music videos for TLC, Tupac, Jay-Z and Dr. Dre himself. It stars Jason Mitchell as Eazy-E and Corey Hawkins as Dr Dre, as well as Ice Cube's son O'Shea Jackson, Jr. playing his own father.
The trailer closely features some of the struggles NWA faced through the 90s as they pioneered gangsta rap, facing off against the media and police, and being accused of glamourising gangs and drugs. Full of fast cars, guns and - of course - classic hip-hop, the teaser offers a tantalising hint as to what to expect when the film is released theatrically on 14 August.
Subtitled 'The world's most dangerous times created the world's most dangerous group', Straight Outta Compton looks to be a thrilling, if perhaps slightly fictionalised, portrait of a seminal group of artists from the mean streets of 80s LA up to the riots of 1992 and beyond.

The trailer comes after Dr Dre spoke of his initial reluctance to endorse the project. Speaking to rapper and radio host Big Boy on hip-hop radio station KRRL 92.3 FM, Dre said "I thought it would put a blemish on our legacy,” but added, "Once we got in it, it started feeling good.
"We wanted to be inspirational. We wanted to show just the ultimate brotherhood, betrayal. It has everything. We really wanted to get across how we feel about women ’cause there’s a big misconception, how much we respect our women."
