Snapchat launch bespoke filters for attendees at Coachella

In case you weren't already jealous...

Snapchat launch bespoke filters for attendees at Coachella Photo: Snapchat

Snapchat has unveiled a very cool series of Geofilters that change throughout the day for attendees at Coachella.

The filters are not simply generic ‘Coachella’ illustrations that can be placed on top of photos or videos. That would be far too simple for the hip crowd at Coachella. Instead, Snapchat has created ones for each band playing at Coachella, and these will only be available whilst said act is playing, so you can only brag about watching St. Vincent, whilst St. Vincent is actually performing.

The bespoke filters have been launched in attempt to encourage users of the service to share shots of the festival with their Snapchat friends and those that follow their ‘Story’. In addition to this, the crowds at Coachella will be able to submit pictures to the festival’s Snapchat ‘Our Story’.

Whilst we here at Gigwise are jealous enough that we are not going to see the likes of St. Vincent, Florence + the Machine and Drake perform over the course of the weekend, we’re pretty sure that we can stick to the live-streaming of Coachella over on their YouTube channel. However, this is sure to go down a treat with the hipster crowd of the Californian festival.
