Mumford & Sons have spoken of their excitement about headlining Reading & Leeds festivals this summer, "even if they chuck shit at us."
The band, who have a very dedicated fanbase and an equally dedicated group of detractors, were a controversial choice for this year's R+L headliners - and it seems they're well aware of that.
Speaking to NME in a new interview, guitarist Winston Marshall said, "I cannot wait for it. I went every year as a kid. This is a dream come true. Even if we get bottled off, even if they chuck shit at us, at least I can say we've headlined Reading and Leeds - even if we only last 10 minutes.£
Marshall also admitted that he once participated in the bottling of pop-punk band Good Charlotte at the same festival: "It's part of the deal, isn't it? I'm not worried about it though, especially because there's nobody on after us. You won't have people waiting to see someone else, so they can just go and do drugs in their tent."
Reading and Leeds takes place between 28 and 30 August, with headliners Metallica, The Libertines and Mumford & Sons. Buy tickets below.
