The LA apartment Kurt Cobain shared with Courtney Love a few years before his death is now available on a short-term rental website.
The Nirvana frontman lived in the flat, which is in Fairfax, Los Angeles, during the height of his band's fame, but was reportedly driven out due to a very rock 'n roll plumbing leak.
The bedroom they used is now available to rent for £200 a night, and has been listed on Airbnb by the apartment's current tenant Brandon Kleinman.
Describing the space on the Airbnb website, Kleinman writes, "First about the Rock History: Yes, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love lived in the home during the height of Nirvana's musical influence 91-92 to be specific. At the time, Kurt was focused on song writing and his artwork, much of which was created in the apartment.
"He was particularly into painting during this time and even decorated the walls in the living room and bedroom. His favorite spot in the house: the bathtub. In it, he wrote the song 'Heart-Shaped Box.'"
Kleinman told Vulture that he didn't know of the apartment's history before he secured the lease: "The day I signed the lease, I was sitting with the landlord, and as soon as I signed on the dotted line, he said: ‘Okay, now I can tell you the real story behind this apartment. He kept it a secret because he wasn’t getting great tenants when he advertised the apartment’s backstory. He went on to tell me about what it was like having Kurt Cobain live here, and what to watch for."
