Koko Taylor – real name Cora Walton – died at the age of 80 on June 3. Popularly known as the Queen of the Blues, Taylor underwent an operation in May after suffering gastrointestinal bleeding but failed to fully recover. She enjoyed a glittering 50 year music career, one that earned her a Grammy Award for her 1985 album 'Queen of the Blues' and saw her inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1997. She has also appeared in some movies, most notably the 1990 film 'Wild At Heart' alongside Nicolas Cage.
