Influential singer-songwriter John Martyn died at the age of 60 on January 29 from pneumonia. Martyn was regarded as one of the most progressive musicians of his generation, working across the fields of folk, blues and jazz music. He launched his career in 1967 with the critically acclaimed album 'London Conversation' and at the start of this year was made an OBE by the Queen in the New Year Honours.
