Graham Coxon: The Blur guitarist was caught up in a sedate, seaside drama today as his Falmouth hotel caught fire during his stay. Coxon escaped along with other residents, and celebrated his survival with a cornish pasty.
Michael Jackson: While filming a Pepsi commercial in 1984, a stray spark set fire to Michael Jackson's hair, leaving him with third-degree burns to his face and scalp. No laughing matter indeed, especially since this incident is widely believed to have sparked his addition to painkillers which eventually killed him.
50 Cent: Having survived one attempt on his life in which he was famously shot, 50 Cent was caught in another potential murder mystery in 2008 when his wife's house, which was at the centre of divorce proceedings between the pair, was mysteriously burnt to the ground in 2008. Six people were admitted to hospital with smoke inhalation.
Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes: TLC member Left Eye took revenge on her ex-boyfriend Andre Rison when he allegedly beat her by burning his house to the ground, starting the fire by piling his trainers in the bath and setting them alight.
James Hetfield: The Metallica frontman was engulfed in flames during a performance in 1992 when a pyrotechnic exploded onstage in Montreal. He was suffered second and third degree burns on his hand, arm, eyebrow and face. Hetfield was back on stage in 17 days.
Gene Simmons: Kiss frontman Simmons set his crowning glory ablaze during a 1973 performance in New York. During his first attempt at breatihng fire on stage, he set his hair on fire - only to be quickly extinguished by a roadie. He would later repeat the stunt - and the burning hair - many times through his career.
Trace Adkins: US country and western singer Trace Adkins bid a flaming farewell to his 5,000 square-foot home in 2011 when it burned to the ground while the singer and his family were out of town. The family were said to be sad to have lost photos and the singer's awards, but glad no one was hurt.
Kings Of Leon: 60 London firefights were called to The O2 to tackle a blaze on two of Kings Of Leon's tour buses in 2010, and the disaster forced the band to postpone a planned show at the venue. No one was hurt.
Florence + The Machine: Careless Florence lost all her band's instruments when a trailer on her tour bus caught fire during a Germany tour in 2009. However, all was not lost as Florence made the most of the situation, saying at the time: "You could hear the harps strings ping in the fire. Strange sound. We recorded it and I want to use it in a song."
Fear Factor: Metal band Fear Factor lost their tour bus in 2010 when it caught fire travelling to from Sheffield to London after finishing a show. The fire nearly ended in disaster, as guitarist Dino Cazares recalls: "Our merchandise guy was still asleep on the bus. So our good friend ran back on the smoke-filled bus and got him out just minutes before the bus was completely in flames."
