Joanna Newsom has reveealed a new track ‘Leaving The City’, taken from her eagerly anticipated fourth album, ‘Divers’. Listen below.
‘Leaving the City’ features Newsom’s brother Pete on drums and appeared on Drag City Records’ YouTube page on Sunday. ‘Divers’ will serve as the first studio album from the American singer and harpist in five years.
Last month, she shared the video for 'Sapokanikan', the first single to be taken from the album, which is set to release 23 October. The video follows the singer and harpist as she wanders through the streets of New York in winter and was helmed by acclaimed director, Wes Anderson.
Newsom released her third album, Have One On Me in 2010 and has been very quiet since then. Speaking about the sound of the new album, Newsom's website released a statement that reads: "...further along and down the road apiece from where she took her leave of us, Joanna Newsom plays on. Breathe deep and equalize your today-ears to the new world of Divers..."
