Who could be the 'arena act' planning a surprise performance?

In an interview with XFM, Reading and Leeds festival booker Jon McIldowie let slip a little more than he should have done - there's going to be at least one surprise set from an 'arena act'. Cue intense, excited speculation, to which we are about to add.
There are a number of massive acts that could perform surprise sets at this year's festival, and to help with the impossible task of narrowing it down, we've looked at bands' schedules and new album status, and picked our predictions of the most likely surprise acts.
Sure, we could just wait a few weeks and find out that way, but where's the fun in that?
