A poor turnout at opening night has taken the wind from the sails of Sting's musical 'The Last Ship', with reports that the show could be in danger of closing.
The show took in just over $100,000 on its opening night, according to the New York Post. To cover running costs, most Broadway musicals will aim for ticket sales of between $250,000 to $350,000 as a minimum per night.
Sting's musical has not sunk without a trace yet though. The show's producers will unveil a TV campaign in the next weeks and will make a decision based upon the effect that has on ticket sales.
Doing the rounds of late night talkshows over the past few weeks, Sting made an appearance on 'Inside the Actor's Studio' a few days before the musical's opening - despite the fact that he doesn't actually appear on stage in The Last Ship.
Next year Sting will return to more familiar shores, performing a joint-arena tour with Paul Simon. The full list of dates are below, for more information and ticket details visit here.
