More about:

Following their debut EP Prologue and a multitude of singles, Static Dress unleash their long awaited debut album Rouge Carpet Disaster on Wednesday (18 May) and it’s a brilliant melding of soaring post-hardcore and various other sounds.

…those sounds include electronic elements and a keen sense of melody, which enhance the band’s music and make them stand out above the crowd. On the album, Static Dress explore a multitude of different vibes, striking a balance between anthemic heaviness and more dream-like moments.

Songs such as the sublime and hazy ‘Attempt 8’ and ‘Marisol’ stand shoulder to shoulder with heavier tracks like ‘Courtney’, ‘Just Relax’ and ‘Push Rope’ but all are delivered with a palpable sense of passion, which is something that Static Dress do with ease.

With Rouge Carpet Disaster, Static Dress have made an assured debut album that sees them exploring styles beyond their post-hardcore beginnings and while they no doubt embrace that sound, and do it very well, there is plenty more going on here and that is what will elevate them.

Rouge Carpet Disaster arrives 18 May.
